After the Mardi Gras break, your child brought home a small cardboard container labeled “CRS Rice Bowl.” Since 1975, Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Rice Bowl has been helping faith communities encounter God and our global family throughout Lent by practicing prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. As a longstanding Lenten tradition, Catholics across the United States have come together through this program to serve our sisters and brothers experiencing hunger worldwide.
Encourage your child to help around the house to earn money to give to others in need. Every little bit counts and adds up! We will continue this service project through Lent, and return the rice bowls in a ziploc bag with your child’s name and homeroom starting the week of April 14. The last day to bring in the rice bowls will be on Holy Thursday, April 17. For more information, go to crsricebowl.org.

Thank you to our Home & School Association volunteers, who hosted the Q3 Principal's List Pizza Party for the students in grades 4 to 8, who earned all As on their report cards!

ATTENTION 5TH GRADE PARENTS: Students entering 6th grade are required to receive immunizations after turning eleven. These vaccines include: Tdap and Meningococcal. Please make an appointment with your health care provider after your child’s 11th birthday. Official signed/stamped shot records can be faxed, emailed, or sent in an envelope to school. Unofficial records such as MyChart, personal records etc. are not acceptable records by the Department of Health and Hospital guidelines. Our fax number is 225-275-0376. Nurse Rochelle's email address is rochelle@stmbr.org. Updated immunization records for entering 6th graders are due by JULY 18, 2025.
If your child will not be 11-years-old before starting 6th grade, please notify Nurse Rochelle. A grace period is allowed to get the vaccines after the 11th birthday. If you are not participating in immunizations, please submit a written statement from a physician stating the procedure is contraindicated for medical reasons, or provide a written dissent from a parent or guardian. Please call 225-272-3072 or email rochelle@stmbr.org with questions about immunizations.
