Family, Fans, and Fun Define STM Athletics

We have athletic programs for all students to enjoy. We believe that athletics teach students valuable lessons in sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, and competition. Even better, STM has a proud tradition, making it even more fun to pull for your child’s team.

FALL SPORTS
As we navigate through these uncertain times because of COVID-19, I promise you that our athletic staff and coaches will do all that we can to keep our student-athletes safe.  The diocese has mandated that no school hold athletic practices, tryouts or workouts until September 8 at the earliest for CSAA sanctioned sports.  STM will be strictly following that policy, and any updates will be emailed out to the school community as they become available.

Boy's Basketball

DRIBBLE, SHOOT AND SCORE

While we may be far from dunking, there’s no doubt that STM Basketball is high-flying and quick to move the ball up and down the court. Our coaches are committed to teaching the game and preparing our teams to play their best in tournaments, in our gym and any gym.

Go to our school's Facebook page to find the Live Stream event pages for each of our home games.

Cheerleading

CHEER FOR THE BLUE AND GOLD

Take school spirit to new heights as part of the Cheerleading squad. At STM, there’s a lot to be proud of, so get fired up, tell other teams to bring it on, and rally the school together under our three letters.

We have three cheerleading squads – third and fourth grade, fifth and sixth grade, and seventh and eighth grade. Tryouts are not required for any of the three squads.

The third and fourth grade squad cheers at home and away football games. The fifth and sixth grade squad cheers at home and away football games. While both fifth and sixth graders cheer at the football games, only the sixth grade cheerleaders cheer at home CSAL girls and boys basketball games. The seventh and eighth grade squad cheers together at home and away football games as well as home CSAL girls and boys basketball games.

The 7th and 8th grade squad participates in a variety of other events throughout the year such as summer cheer camp, a Christmas or Mardi Gras parade and at school assemblies (like Red Ribbon Week) and pep rallies.

Girls Soccer

GIRLS GET THE BALL ROLLING

From after-school practices to games on the pitch, Girls Soccer at St. Thomas More is a competitive, well-rounded introduction to soccer. This sport is a great chance to learn new skills, make new friends and score a few goals in the process. No matter the experience level, athletes will get the opportunity to play against other schools in the area as they collectively develop into proficient, passionate players.
