About ACCESS

Achieving Catholic Curriculum through Equity, Support and Success

The administration of St. Thomas More School is excited to announce that we have established a St. Thomas More–based special education program that will be housed on our campus. Our goal is to support students and families with the care, mission-centered approach, and commitment to excellence that defines STM.

We are accepting applications for 2026-2027 in chronological grades 2 through 8.

CURRICULUM

  • Based on state standards that align to the developmental readiness of the individual student
  • We use general education textbooks and similar materials where appropriate, but also specialized units that are developmentally appropriate for our students.
  • Students will continue to be included in the general education classes where appropriate and beneficial to the child.
  • Enrichment opportunities include art, music, and P.E.

CLASSROOM

  • One classroom with 12-15 students
  • One certified lead teacher
  • Two assistants - One for upper grades, one for lower grades

  • Autism
  • Intellectual Disability (Mild–Moderate)
  • Specific Learning Disabilities
  • Multiple Disabilities
  • Traumatic Brain Injury (ambulatory students)

We are accepting applications for the 2026-2027 school year in chronological grades 2 through 8. To be considered for the ACCESS Program, applicants must have a current psychoeducational evaluation.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

St. Thomas More partners with the following scholarship programs to help lighten the load of those financial obligations to families that would qualify. If you are currently receiving one of the below scholarships, please be sure to complete your application for next year by the deadline.

STM does not participate in the LA GATOR Scholarship Program.
