In the Catholic tradition of stewardship, we invite you to prayerfully consider supporting the St. Thomas More Catholic School 2024-2025 Annual Fund. Our goal this year is to raise $60,000 for new computers as part of a synchronous computer application class lab renovation! Based on your previous generosity, we know that we can meet and even exceed this goal. Please consider a financial gift that will benefit our students and faculty. There are several ways to give:
Please call the school office at 225-275-2820 if you need assistance. Your annual contribution is more than a gift; it is an investment in our students that will have a lasting impact. Thank you for your support!
Do you have a child entering school next year? Do you know a family looking for a school? Applications for new students are open at stmbr.org/apply. We have limited availability for qualified candidates. Please note: Applications are for new students only; current students will reenroll for 2025-2026 in January.

If your child took a picture in front of our STM backdrop with his or her grandparents or other loved ones on Grandparents Day, your photos are in! Please click here to view and download. Many thanks to Ms. Kristin Baldridge for being our Grandparents Day photographer!
Grandparents Day - Thank you! Thanks to all who volunteered to make Grandparents Day a success! We are grateful for everyone who helped with set up, clean up, reception, book fair, preparing food, and financial gifts.
Community Coffee Cash for Schools: Please clip and collect Proofs of Purchase from all your Community Coffee products. This is how we give our STM teachers their classroom startup money each school year, and we need your help! Send Proofs of Purchase to your child’s homeroom teacher or the front office any time of the school year.
Born to Run: The mission of #iGiveCatholic is to unite Catholic communities and donors throughout the country to express their generosity in support of the organizations that have helped to shape our lives of faith: our parishes, schools, and ministries. #iGiveCatholic inspires faithful stewards to "Give Back and Give Catholic" on GivingTuesday, a global day of generosity and kindness, which is December 3 this year.
Please look for donation envelopes at STM Masses this weekend, November 24-35, and November 30-December 1. You also may donate at stmbr.org/igivecatholic. Your gift will help support STM School's computer lab renovation.
#iGiveCatholic accepts online donations now during our Advanced Giving Phase through 11:59 p.m. on December 3.
FALL SPORTS AWARDS CONVOCATION - December 2: We will use this special night to honor our girls basketball, football, cross country, swimming and tennis athletes and coaches. We will be passing out participation certificates, letterman awards and pins to those athletes who have earned them for a fall sport this year.
All student-athletes in grades 3-8 must have a completed athletic packet. Click here to download the athletic packet.
If you have any questions about STM Athletics, please contact Athletic Director Ali Buchart at bucharta@stmbr.org.
STM sports and event photography: Look for an email from your child's coach when sports photos are ready to view and purchase as digital images at Shutterly Happy Photography. Buttons with your child's sport image also will be available for purchase. This page does not close or expire; you may order pictures and/or buttons all year long.
Click here for the STM Athletics calendar to see all game schedules.
Diseases of the week: We are seeing cases of influenza (flu) and strep. We have also recently seen a few cases of fifth disease and one case of mononucleosis. Please remember our policy for students not to return to school until 24 hours after fever has stayed below 100.0 without medication, and 24 hours after vomiting/diarrhea have resolved.
Tracking illnesses: Nurse Rochelle keeps track of the number of cases of flu, strep, Covid, and other contagious illnesses. Please email rochelle@stmbr.org if your child is diagnosed with a contagious illness.
Born to Run: THANKSGIVING MASS/HOLIDAY SCHEDULE: The parish will celebrate Thanksgiving with a vigil Mass on Wednesday, November 27, at 6 p.m. Parishioners are invited to bring one item from their Thanksgiving meal for a special blessing. Please make a note that there are no confessions or Mass on Thursday, November 28, Thanksgiving Day, and no Mass on Friday, November 29. The church office is closed Wednesday through Friday, November 27-29. We wish a Happy Thanksgiving to all our school families!
Born to Run: ADVENT BEGINS DECEMBER 1: Beginning the Church's liturgical year, Advent (from, "ad-venire" in Latin or "to come to") is the season encompassing the four Sundays (and weekdays) leading up to the celebration of Christmas. The Advent season is a time of preparation that directs our hearts and minds to Christ’s second coming at the end of time and to the anniversary of Our Lord’s birth on Christmas. The parish Advent reflection booklet this year is the Little Blue Book. Families are encouraged to pick up a copy in the back of the church (one per family, please) and pray daily through the Advent season.
Born to Run: HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION, DECEMBER 9: The feast of the Immaculate Conception is a holy day of obligation this year. Catholics in the United States are obligated to attend Mass for the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception on December 9 this year, in addition to their regular Mass obligation for the Second Sunday of Advent. Can someone go to a single Sunday evening Mass and fulfill their obligation for both Second Sunday of Advent and Immaculate Conception? No. Both days have important significance in the life of the Church and need to be treated as such.
Born to Run: WOMEN’S ACTS RETREAT: Women of STM are invited to register for our first parish ACTS Retreat in conjunction with St. Jean Vianney. We’re excited that ACTS has come to STM! Please visit the retreat website for details. Men’s ACTS is coming soon!
Born to Run: STM MEN'S CLUB: The STM Men's Club December meeting will be Monday, December 16, at 6:30 p.m. in the activity center. Dinner will be served.
The annual meeting and gumbo cookoff will be Saturday, January 18 in the activity center.
