Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) Informational Meeting
Tuesday, August 23

Are you not Catholic and interested in learning more about what the Catholic church teaches and believes? Are you married to a Catholic but don’t quite understand everything that your spouse believes? There is a process for you to participate in – it is called the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults.

This process looks at the core teachings of the Catholic Church as expressed in the Catechism of the Catholic Church – what we believe (The Creed), how we celebrate what we believe (Sacraments), how we live our beliefs (Morality) and how we grow our faith (Prayer). Participation in the process does not mean commitment to become Catholic but often leads to that decision. This process can also be for adults who were baptized in the Catholic church as infants or young children but never received any further religious education or sacraments and now wish to complete their initiation journey.

There will be an informational meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23 in the Mother Teresa Room. There is also an adapted process for students in 5th grade or above who have not been baptized and have a desire to be baptized and received into the Catholic Church. The youth group would meet on a weekday afternoon from 3 to 4:30 p.m. A meeting with student and parents is required before acceptance into this process.

Please contact Sarah Neau (neaus@stmbr.org) at the Parish Office for more information on either the adult process or the youth process.
