The 4th annual STM Mother & Son Tailgate will take place on Saturday, October 4 from 1-3 p.m. on the school's football field and in the gym. We are in need of several adult volunteers to make this event successful and allow all moms to attend with their sons. (Dads, we're looking at you!) You must be Child Protection Certified to volunteer during Tailgate. If you are not certified at the time of the Tailgate, you can still help with setup or cleanup — and all help is greatly appreciated! Teens are welcome to volunteer at the sign-in table and during set up and take down for the event; adults are required to supervise children during the event.
Please click here to sign up to volunteer for a specific need. Thank you!
Due to safety and liability coverage, aside from teen volunteers, we cannot allow any other children or siblings, younger or older, not enrolled at STM, to attend the Mother & Son Tailgate. Only boys enrolled in Kindergarten through 8th grade at STM may be present.

Each month, our school community will participate in a service project to help the needy. For our September project, we are asking for donations of new socks for the Baton Rouge Parents Magazine Sock It to Me! drive. Socks are among the most needed items at shelters. The vision is to put new socks that provide warmth and protection on the feet of men, women, and children who are in need. Socks can be brought to STM through Monday, September 15. Collection boxes are placed throughout campus for students to drop in new socks. Thank you for your generosity!

Mission Day is on the way! St. Thomas More’s annual Mission Day is one of the special long-standing traditions of our parish school. This one-day fall festival on October 16 for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade generates funds for a mission in need of support. The money raised at Mission Day is donated to an organization chosen by our 8th grade students.
- Games and activities are set up throughout campus. Students participate while enjoying a fun day with their friends. A great way to have your child more involved in the purpose of Mission Day is to encourage them to find ways to earn/raise money for Mission Day, such as doing special chores around the house or helping out a neighbor in need.
- Volunteer opportunities! With more than 30 ways you can volunteer on campus for Mission Day, there is something for everyone! Organizing and preparing, setup and cleanup, food, game booths, and more! Please click here to volunteer for Mission Day! To volunteer at Mission Day, you must be Child Protection Certified. If you are not certified at the time of the Mission Day, you can still help with setup or cleanup — and all help is greatly appreciated!
- Attention Kindergarten and 1st grade parents! Students in Kindergarten and 1st grade must have an adult chaperone (mom, dad, grandparent, aunt, uncle, etc.) with them throughout the festival portion of the event. Please plan ahead so your child can take part in all the fun!
- To come: Mission Day booth tickets and pizza lunch - Only tickets are accepted at Mission Day booths! Be on the lookout for the link to purchase your child's tickets and pizza lunch. Tickets are sold in 50¢ increments. Pre-paid tickets will be disbursed to your child's homeroom on Mission Day. Tickets also may be purchased with cash, check, or Venmo on Mission Day.
- Due to safety and liability coverage, we cannot allow any other children or siblings, younger or older, not enrolled at STM, to attend Mission Day. Only students enrolled in Kindergarten through 8th grade at STM may be present.

- Youth Gathering - Calling all STM 5th - 8th graders! Come join us in the Activity Center on Friday, October 3, for fun, friendship, and faith. A waiver must be on file to participate. If you already turned one in last year, you don't need to do it again. All participants must register at this link.
- Calling Students to a Special Role at Mass: STM Church invites school students in 4th grade and up who are baptized Catholic to become altar servers—a meaningful way for young people to grow in their faith and take an active role in the Mass. Altar servers assist at Sunday and/or school liturgies. This is a wonderful opportunity for young people who are curious about what happens on the altar and who want to serve their parish in a special way. A training session will be held on Saturday, September 27, from 9:30 - 10:30 am in the church. Current altar servers are also asked to attend this session as a refresher and to help welcome and train new servers. Please register for training by visiting stmbr.org/news/altar-server
