Volunteer Opportunity! K-8 Mother & Son Tailgate

The 4th annual STM Mother & Son Tailgate will take place on Saturday, October 4 from 1-3 p.m. on the school's football field and in the gym. We are in need of several adult volunteers to make this event successful and allow all moms to attend with their sons. (Dads, we're looking at you!) Adults must be Child Protection Certified to volunteer during Tailgate. If you are not certified at the time of the Tailgate, you can still help with setup or cleanup — and all help is greatly appreciated! Teens are welcome to volunteer at the sign-in table and during set up and take down for the event; adults are required to supervise children during the event.

Please click here to sign up to volunteer for a specific need. Thank you!

Due to safety and liability coverage, aside from teen volunteers, we cannot allow any other children or siblings, younger or older, not enrolled at STM, to attend the Mother & Son Tailgate. Only boys enrolled in Kindergarten through 8th grade at STM may be present.

Mission Day is one of St. Thomas More's most special and long-standing traditions. This one-day fall festival on October 15 for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade raises funds for a mission in need of support, chosen each year by our 8th grade students.

This year, our Mission Day proceeds will support Ima’s Home, an organization dedicated to rescuing, loving, and empowering the more than one million street children in the Philippines—transforming their futures with hope and opportunity. Click here to learn more about Ima's Home.

Thank you for helping us continue this cherished tradition while supporting Ima’s Home and the children they serve. Together, we can make Mission Day unforgettable for our students and impactful for children in need.

STM Tardy Policy Reminder

Students arriving at school after 7:40 a.m. must report to the office for an admit slip. For safety reasons, students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when arriving late. After receiving the admit slip, the student then reports to the homeroom teacher. If a child is tardy on a Mass day, they will wait in the office until Mass is over.

It is essential that students arrive on time to school so as not to miss the important aspects of the school experience. If tardy, students may miss instruction, and their tardiness may interrupt the flow of the class and its routines. After 16 unexcused tardies, a communication will be sent to the family and may result in a conference.

Excused tardiness requires a signed doctor or dentist’s excuse, which should be given to the homeroom teacher or emailed to attendance@stmbr.org. Other excuses for tardiness will be deemed unexcused except in cases of extreme weather or automobile accidents.

Student Council Builds STM Spirit at Fall Pep Rally

The St. Thomas More Student Council has been busy spreading spirit and providing service to the school during the past two months. The Student Council consists of 6th-8th grade students elected by their peers. The 2025-2026 executive officers include Jack H., president; Charlie H., vice president; Emma D., secretary; and Amelie U., treasurer.

The Student Council planned and carried out the Fall Pep Rally for 3rd through 8th grades on Monday, September 15, prior to the Monday Night Football Game. The cheerleaders worked with the Student Council to present a spirit-filled event, based on the western theme “Boots On, Bulldogs Gone,” which referenced our teams playing the Ascension Catholic Bulldogs.

Fall sports teams including football, basketball, swim, cross country, and tennis were honored and introduced at the pep rally. Spokespersons for those teams included Luca P., Ava J., Sara R., Ian N., and Valerie M. Alan B. did an outstanding job as our Eagle mascot. Throughout the pep rally, students were entertained with cheers from the cheerleaders and competitive games including “Ships and Sailors”, “Flip the Cone”, “Put Out”, and “Tug of War.”

The grade levels competed in a “Two Bits” contest with the 7th and 8th graders winning the spirit sticks. The pep rally ended with the traditional “What Time Is It?” cheer led by the entire 8th grade class. The pep rally was a fun event filled with school spirit, teamwork, and friendly competition.

In addition to the pep rally, the Student Council has been carrying out the school recycling program. This is a great service to the school. The organization’s next activity will be Halloween Safety Talks for the younger grades. The student council is sponsored by Ashley Llaneza, Henry Walsh, and Jo Samaha.
