St. Thomas More must provide a safe environment for children and youth. We hold ALL adults who work with minors to a code of conduct that is Christ-centered and professional. The Safe Environment Program implemented by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge requires us to evaluate the background of all paid personnel and volunteers whose duties include ongoing, unsupervised contact with minors.
The Diocese of Baton Rouge has adopted Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People. Any one who wants to volunteer at St. Thomas More must be in compliance with this policy. ALL requirements must be met in order to volunteer.
The Diocese is still transitioning to a new system for volunteers to apply for Child Protection Certification. In the meantime, you may still follow these steps to become certified to volunteer at STM:
When volunteering or participating in STM events, please remember that due to safety and liability coverage, we cannot allow any other children or siblings who are not St. Thomas More students to attend.

Students in 3rd - 6th grade are required to test on their two summer reading books. We will offer two testing dates over the summer: Thursday, June 20 and Wednesday, July 24. Students may only test on one book at each testing date. Students also may test on their books when we return to school in August.
Many families are excited for an active, travel-filled, relative-visiting summer. We love all of these things! But each of these activities creates unique digital risks that awesome parents should monitor. Click here to read the full article from Protect Young Eyes.
