Delinquent Tuition & Fees and Final Exams/9 Weeks Tests Policy

It is the policy of STM that all tuition and fees balances must be current prior to final exams/tests. Parents will be notified if a student is to remain home on examination days if an account is not current. Payments made toward delinquencies after Monday, May 15 must be paid by cash, cashier’s check or money order to be deemed received by STM, so the student will be allowed to take exams. Nurse's Notes

Parents, please stop by the First Aid/Nurse’s office before May 24 if your child has medical supplies there this year. Students are not allowed to pick up any remaining medication. Orthodontic supplies or extra contacts/glasses may be taken home by students any time on or before the last day of school. All medications and supplies that are not picked up by Friday, June 2 will be discarded. Nothing will be kept at school for the following year.

The state of Louisiana will require Hepatitis A vaccinations for K-8 grades beginning in the fall of 2023-24. A complete Hepatitis A series is two vaccines given 6 months apart. If your child has not received any Hepatitis A vaccines, please make an appointment to begin this series. If your child has received one Hepatitis A vaccine, please follow up at 6 months to complete the series. The vaccine will be abbreviated Hep A on your child’s immunization record. Please do not confuse Hep A with Hepatitis B (Hep B) 3 shot series given in infancy, this is a different vaccine. If the first Hep A vaccine has been given and it is not yet time for the second vaccine, students will be allowed to attend school until the second vaccine is administered on schedule.

Spring Pep Rally

The annual spring pep rally, sponsored by the Student Council, was held Friday, April 28. Fourth through 8th grade students attended the celebration, which honored STM spring athletic teams including volleyball, basketball, and track and field. Student Council officers Vanessa Tabony, Emerson Cramer, and Gwendolyn McDermott served as MCs for the event. Spokesmen for the 8th grade varsity teams included Cameron Burger, volleyball; Michael Mauk, basketball, and Annabelle Mathis, track and field. The highlight of the event was the traditional volleyball game played between the 8th grade basketball boys and the 8th grade volleyball girls. Coaches for the teams included Steven Nguyen for the volleyball team and head coach James Pendarvis and assistant coaches Luke Kisner and Cordell Saunders for the basketball team. The game was exciting and closely contested, but the girls stood victorious in the end. Additional entertainment included a “dance off” between games that featured some outstanding dance moves by our STM students. Adding to the spirit of the pep rally were the STM Cheerleaders and our Eagle mascot portrayed by both Anna Mire and Victoria Burger. The pep rally ended with the traditional “What Time Is It” cheer performed by all the pep rally participants and led by Sophia Harrison and Michael Mauk.
