Morning Carpool Reminders

We have been seeing a lot of tardy arrivals lately. Students should on campus no later than 7:35 a.m. to avoid being tardy. Morning assembly begins promptly at 7:40 a.m. every day. Parents should plan enough time to arrive on campus, follow the carpool lines, and let students out of the vehicle and then walk into the building. It takes little feet longer to walk and time should be allotted for that. We appreciate your understanding.

We also have been seeing cars cutting in carpool lines. Click here for carpool directions and maps. As a reminder, in PK carpool, the line begins on Fairhaven, right on Sylvan and left into the PK lot. There should be no right turns into PK.

Please be mindful of STM faculty and staff arriving when lining up for morning carpool, and do not block the entrances or access to the parking lot in front of the school office. Our faculty and staff need access to the parking lot before carpool starts at 7:20 a.m. Please leave the parking lot entrances clear, with enough room for faculty and staff to enter and park. Thank you!

Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl

This Lent, our school community is participating in CRS Rice Bowl, a program that invites us to reflect on the challenges of global hunger and our Gospel call to care for our global human family. Your child received a Rice Bowl on Monday, February 27. We encourage you to have your children earn the money that they will place in their Rice Bowl; their almsgiving seems to make a bigger impression when there is a physical connection.

Through our prayer, we encounter Jesus, who is present in the face of every member of our human family. When we fast, we encounter the obstacles that prevent us from fully loving God and our neighbor. When we give alms, we share in solidarity with those who need our support. Your sacrifices during this holy season and your participation in the Rice Bowl program have the power to change lives by providing enough nutritious food for families to thrive.

Lent can feel like a long time. Sometimes we’d like to skip right to Easter! But through prayer and sacrifices, we share in Christ’s suffering and prepare for the joy of his resurrection. Let your Lenten sacrifices help not only your family and community but communities around the world. Visit crsricebowl.org to learn more.

The CRS Rice Bowls will be collected Monday, April 3. Thank you for participating in CRS Rice Bowl with your family.

Nurse's Notes

SPRING ALLERGIES: Spring allergy season is the time of year when the pollen count is at its highest, usually March through May. Allergy symptoms vary from mild to severe and include: itchy, red, watery eyes; sneezing; rashes/hives and itchy skin; and respiratory symptoms/wheezing. If your child suffers from seasonal allergy symptoms, now is the time to start taking daily preventative medications like antihistamines, eye drops, and inhalers (if prescribed). Installing new air filters in your car and home and washing your hands, face, and clothing after going outdoors is also helpful. Ask a physician for treatment recommendations if symptoms are persistent. An allergy specialist can help those that have asthma or suffer from severe symptoms during allergy season.
